When Leaside Life reviewed the Amaya Indian Room in our July issue, owner Hemant Bagwani told us that changes would be coming soon. Now he’s followed up. The location at 1701 Bayview will reopen the first week of September as Indian Street Food Co.
“The idea is to recreate the lights, the sights, the smells of the streets of India,” says Bagwani. “We have included the best of street food, and the food that used to be served in the oldest eateries of our grandparents’ youth. The treatment is my own. Our menu is ready and we are practicing in the kitchen while the space is given a new life.”
