Becky White is doing it again

In the spring she rounded up 200 collars, leashes, etc. in less than a week to send to Mexico. They came from dog owners and former dog owners, pet stores and others who helped spread the word. Now she has been collecting for CAAT, the Canadian Animal Assistance Team, to take to Nunavut and the two photos show how she’s doing.

She wrote on August 16, “The first picture with the red leashes on the bottom of my front steps was taken a few weeks ago with the donated items gathered up until then. The second was taken yesterday, of brand new dog collars and leashes (128) in total donated by Jennifer Ego of Pawsitively Pets here in Leaside. I have mentioned in previous emails other businesses that are on board too. My church, Northlea United Church; Dog Dynamics Pet Salon on McRae; my vet, Laird Eglinton Pet Hospital and Pet Valu on Laird. Many dog walker friends have gathered items from clients to add to the collection plus fellow Leasiders. Things are starting to come in from my time on 680News yesterday. I have walked Marlane Oliver’s dogs from 680News. She lives in this area. They are going to Nunavut in mid September. I live at 49 Glenvale Blvd. and I am leaving a small bin on my front porch where Leasiders can drop off their donations at any time. The bin is labeled.”
