Horse’s head wins

WInning entryWhat do a horse’s head, ivy leaves and flowers have in common? They were all part of the Leaside Garden Society’s winning entry, Horsepower, at Canada Blooms this past March in the Open Design category.

The entry had to be “suitable for a display beside a horse jump”.

The project took a couple of months of planning by club members Rick Hutchins, Heather Grey, Margaret Rouseau and Karen Keay. One problem was where to put the horse’s head.

“The exhibit was put together in one team member’s kitchen,” with a big problem being where to put the horse’s head, said one of the volunteers.
