Stickney Ave. is now part of Leaside. The name change from Markham Ave. became official in May when a group of friends and admirers gathered to honour the former teacher and baseball coach who died last year while coaching a team at Talbot Park.
Leaside resident Elspeth Koor has won an Ontario Volunteer Award for her 10 years of work raising $200,000 for Lupus Ontario. The Koor family has hosted the annual Walk for Lupus for several years.
