LRT Hearing

If you get this newspaper before Jan. 31 you might consider attending an open house about the new plans for the LTR on Eglinton Ave. A complaint about the plans and the lack of time to respond made to MPP Kathleen Wynne led Metrolinx to schedule a new hearing, 7-9 p.m. at the Ontario Science Centre.

LPOA vice-president Carol Burtin Fripp says, “We urge you to attend, because this really will affect Leaside for years to come.”

Leaside Unite has planned a community fundraiser there for Thursday, Jan, 31, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25, which gets you two drinks and music provided by Blue Nash.

Members of Leaside Unite and the Leaside Property Owners’ Association will be there to answer questions about the SmartCentre North proposal.

Leaside 100 Gala

Prices for the Leaside 100 birthday gala, Saturday, April 27, have been set at $2,500 for a corporate table for eight, $125 for the dinner and entertainment, $100 for seniors 60+, $25 for the dance party for those 19+. www.leaside100.ca

Leaside Arena Fundraiser

Construction at the Leaside arena means the fourth annual Laugh Out Loud fundraiser for the expansion there will move to Fantasy Farms, 50 Pottery Rd.

So far the event has raised over $100,000.
