It’s still concrete, but the Leaside Arena second ice rink passed a major milestone when the concrete floor was poured last month. Expansion committee chair Paul Mercer says he expects an opening in the early fall. Meanwhile, because it’s not possible to ensure safe access to the Leaside pool, it won’t open until sometime in September.
